About

The harness is the part you can change

A Claude Code session spends most of what it costs on things that are not your question: schemas it reloads every turn, files it rewrites to change one line, searches that bring back more than they answer. CULP works on that, and only on that.

What CULP does not do

It does not raise your limit. That number is set by Anthropic, and nothing installed on your machine changes it. What CULP changes is how much of that limit a single turn consumes.

It does not change the model either. The model you selected is the model that answers; CULP never swaps it, never downgrades it, and never quietly routes a request somewhere cheaper.

How we work

A failure is never silent

When CULP cannot do its job it says which one and stops the change, rather than letting a half-applied edit reach your file and look like a success.

Measured, not assumed

Every claim on this site started as a number from a real session. Where a figure depends on your own project, it is written as an order of magnitude and says so.

Reversible by default

Anything CULP moves is written to disk first. Your MCP registrations and your CLAUDE.md come back with one command, exactly as they were.

Independent, and says so

CULP is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. It is written on every page of this site because it should not have to be discovered.

The less tools for Claude, the better it is. Theoretically, you could give Claude only bash, and it would never be limited.
